Your mission
As part of our endeavor to monitor space traffic from space to ensure the long-term sustainability of our orbits, we are seeking support for ongoing space missions and the development of our next-generation spacecraft. If you are an experienced engineer with a proactive mindset, we would love to meet you!

As part of Vyoma, your responsibilities are:
  • to review spacecraft design proposals and iterate on spacecraft systems architecture in support of payload operation across the defined mission scenarios;
  • to prepare technical documentation for space segment suppliers and manufacturers;
  • to contribute to and help mediate the manufacturing process of spacecraft;
  • be involved in the full satellite lifecycle, making sure technical, launch and payload requirements are met;
  • to conduct on-ground simulations of expected performance envelopes and supervise finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations using FEM tools;
  • to contribute to the generation and review of hardware (and if applicable, onboard software) specifications;
  • to support Phase 0/A studies for next-generation missions together with other teams.
Your profile
Important: Please only apply if you have a valid working permit in Germany (or the EU)

  • a MSc or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar – professional (industry) experience is a plus;
  • satellite systems engineering expertise together with hands-on experience with satellite subsystems, in particular thermal, power/energy and structures;
  • experience with the spacecraft development lifecycle, with focus on simulation, qualification, manufacturing, validation, and launch (Phases B/C to E);
  • specialised knowledge on structures and/or thermal control subsystems (radiators, insulators, dissipators)
  • familiarity with numerical analysis software and tools (ANSYS, NASTRAN or equivalent);
  • familiarity with CAD software (CATIA, AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus;
  • familiarity with early-mission and design mission phases (Phases 0 to B) is a plus;
  • willingness to familiarise yourself with space industry standards (CCSDS, ECSS);
  • excellent English skills, and good communication skills.

About us
Vyoma is on a mission to solve one of the big issues humanity faces today: the problem of space debris threatening active satellites in orbit. We are building a fleet of space cameras to monitor such space debris. Together with our software suite, we build an accurate catalogue of space objects, automate satellite operations for our customers, and ultimately keep our orbits clean and safe. We are a young and international team of aerospace engineers and software developers, backed by some of the top investors and venture capitalists in Germany.

Our offices are located very centrally in Munich (Bonner Platz). Amongst others, you can expect a great (very international) team atmosphere, highly qualified colleagues, flexible working hours, remote/hybrid work, and a very exciting company vision.
