Your mission
As an Electronics Engineer (Space), you will be the technical guardian ensuring that our electronics systems perform flawlessly in the harsh space environment. You will bridge the gap between theoretical design and practical implementation, making sure our space-qualified systems meet stringent reliability, performance, and safety requirements.
You will:
- Conduct critical design reviews & technical analysis of electronics schematics, layouts, and documentation
- Derive and validate specifications for mission-critical components
- Review and validate supplier test results and deliverables
- Work closely with embedded software and digital design teams to integrate hardware and software elements
- Support payload/platform system integration and troubleshoot interface issues
- Perform hands-on laboratory testing of prototypes, including measurements, characterisation, and debugging
- Act as a technical point of contact for suppliers, ensuring compliance with space-grade requirements
- Proactively identify systemic design issues and propose innovative solutions
Your profile
Important: Please only apply if you have a valid working permit in Germany (or the EU)- 5+ years experience in aerospace/space electronics design and testing
- Solid understanding of space environment constraints, radiation effects, and qualification standards (ECSS, NASA-STD, MIL-STD)
- Practical experience with space-qualified components and electronics design practices
- Strong knowledge of PCB design, power distribution networks, signal integrity, EMI/EMC considerations
- Hands-on laboratory experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other measurement tools
- Ability to analyze and critically assess technical documentation and supplier deliverables
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the maturity to understand the criticality of design decisions in space applications
Bonus points if you have:- Experience with optoelectronics, imaging sensors, or cameras for space applications
- Advanced signal integrity and high-speed design optimization expertise
- Experience with FPGA fundamentals (transceivers, line codes, FSM, metastability)
- Prior participation in space mission development and deployment
- Mentorship or leadership experience in guiding junior engineers
Note: Don't meet all the criteria above? We'd still love to hear from you. We value diverse backgrounds and are committed to building a team with varied perspectives and experiences.
About us
Vyoma is on a mission to solve one of the big issues humanity faces today: the problem of space debris threatening active satellites in orbit. We are building a fleet of space cameras to monitor such space debris. Together with our software suite, we build an accurate catalogue of space objects, automate satellite operations for our customers, and ultimately keep our orbits clean and safe. We are a young and international team of aerospace engineers and software developers, backed by some of the top investors and venture capitalists in Germany.
Our offices are located very centrally in Munich (Bonner Platz). Amongst others, you can expect a great (very international) team atmosphere, highly qualified colleagues, flexible working hours, remote/hybrid work, and a very exciting company vision.
